Who we are and why we care

Amazing personalities, misfit melodrama and an undying passion for hair, that is exactly who we are! We are expressive, we sometimes disagree but ultimately we feel the love and this is transferred to our clients and our work.

At Kink Hair we give a shit, yup, you read that right, we really do give a shit! About your hair, about how you feel when you are in our salon and more importantly, how you feel when you leave. Unlike other large chain
salons, we have the creative flexibility to tailor our service to you. Your hair is such a big part of who we are as people and we want to make sure you feel the very best version of you when you leave us.

Our fully trained team have a full arsenal of skills and expertise, ensuring that there is no style, blowdry, curl, cut, colour or creation we can’t help you with. Your hair, your rules, we just do our upmost to help you achieve them. We can’t wait to welcome you into our hair salon and become a part of your hair goals.

To all our wonderful clients

We hope you are all keeping safe and well.

With the government issuing the statement that hair salons could potentially open from the 4th of July, we wanted to get in contact with you all and say Hi!

The time has finally come for us to be able to plan our grand reopening and we wanted to keep you all up to date with the changes that will be put in place. Whilst it may be long, (and no one likes a boring read!) please read through the below information so that you are fully up to speed about how Kink Hair Salon will be operating for the foreseeable future.

The government will be issuing stringent guidelines on the use of PPE, not only for our team but also any visitors to the salon. We will obviously be closely adhering to these rules for the safety and wellbeing of all our staff and yourselves.

We have already begun sourcing PPE for salon use, including gowns, masks, gloves and any other items that are currently being advised by Hairdressing governing bodies. Once final PPE guidelines have been released we will up date you as to what measures these are.

We will no longer have a waiting area in our salon. Clients will be asked to arrive promptly for their appointment and be greeted by their stylist upon arrival. Because we must ensure social distancing between clients, it is imperative to arrive on time for your appointment.

If you are later than 10 minutes for your appointment, we will no longer be able to complete your service and a new appointment will need to be made for another date and time.

Due to car parking issues, we advise clients to arrive early for their appointment to ensure they have time to park but to remain in their vehicle until their allotted time.

Appointment times will be extended to allow for thorough cleaning and disinfecting of the salon and equipment between each client and also allow us to monitor how many people are in the salon at any one time.

There will no longer be refreshments or magazines available at the salon. This is to minimise handling of items by clients and team.

We will no longer be able to hang your coat for you so if you do feel the need to bring a jacket with you, we ask that you hold onto this whilst your service is completed.

We are asking all clients to wear their own mask/face covering when attending the salon and for the duration of their visit. Please ensure you bring this with you when arriving for your appointment.

If you have been experiencing any of the symptoms of Covid-19, you MUST NOT attend the salon and call us to rearrange your service.

At this time, we request that you attend the salon on your own. We will no longer be able to accommodate children and partners whilst you have your service completed. If your partner is needed to drive you to the salon, we ask that they remain in their vehicle whilst they
wait for you.

Priority for appointments will be allocated to those who had an appointment already in our books for the period we have been closed. We will allocate a similar time and day (as best we can) and then advise of you of this appointment. If you are unable to attend, we can then offer you an alternative that suits. This process will begin in June.

Standing appointments for blowdrys will currently stand however, timings for these will have to be amended in order to adhere to social distancing rules. If you have a standing blow-dry appointment, we will contact you to discuss the timing changes.

Once pre booked appointments have been filled, we will advise clients that our book is open for appointments for those that wish to make one. This will be via telephone only, online booking will be suspended.

All colour clients will be offered a telephone consultation prior to their appointment. Due to the amount of time that has passed, many clients may find they need a different service to that which they usually have. Your colourist will inform of the what they feel is required and also quote an estimated price for that service.

Because of social distancing, we will not be able to accept walk in clients for the time being. This means that all appointments must be made in advance. We would strongly advise booking your next appointment before leaving the salon to ensure you receive the appointment best suited to you. Appointments will be in high demand and therefore this is the best way to guarantee your next visit.

We are so excited to be planning our return to Kink and we hope the above information provides you with the knowledge as to how we are aiming to keep all our staff and clients safe and healthy.

We can’t wait to see you all in July!
Theo and all the Kink Team
